State Correctional Facility Graterford

The State Correctional Facility Graterford is located in Skippack Township in Montgomery County. This prison opened in 1929 and is the oldest in the sate. It even has a small number of death row inmates located within the facility. The prison holds about 3500 prisoners and has a prison farm that inmates can work on throughout the day. SCI Graterford actually has its own economy coming out of the prison and its goods have generated millions of dollars over the past 10 years. Inside the prison include a shoe factory, a weaving plant, a carton factory and a garment factory. Generally there are around 300 to 500 prisoners working at the prison at one time. Beyond the work at the prison, this facility also offers educational and rehabilitative programs for inmates as well.

Federal Correctional Complex Allenwood Prison Consultants

FCI Allenwood complex is a mix of three Federal Prisons near Montgomery Pennsylvania. It is managed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons and has a capacity of around 2900 inmates at one time. At this prison complex there is a low, a medium and a high security institution. This prison has had some notable inmates including Ronald Pelton a former NSA employee who was convicted in 1985 of espionage and served 30 years in prison. It also holds an individual who was convicted of attempting to bomb an aircraft with weapons of mass destruction.

That inmate who was stabbed was believed to be in the mafia. In 2011 around 300 inmates got sick from eating bad chicken. It was the largest salmonella-poisoning incident ever in prison history. In 2013 two inmates murdered a guard.
