Bayside State Prison

Bayside State Prison (BSP) is located in Leesburg, New Jersey. In fact, up until 1988, the prison was named “Leesburg State Prison”. It is an all male facility, which houses all classification levels. This prison is equipped to hold a maximum of 2,210 inmates at one time. The Bayside State Prison has three separate buildings to house all of their inmates. They also provide a variety of programs and rehabilitative help including:

  • Medical treatment
  • Psychiatric help
  • Dental care
  • Educational classes
  • Vocational courses

East Jersey State Prison

East Jersey State Prison (EJSP) is located in Rahway, New Jersey. It started out as a reformatory, but was later converted into an all male prison. Due to the prisons unique features, such as the red dome shaped building and the noticeably large front gates, this prison has been highlighted on television shows and in movies. One in particular being the popular television show, “Scared Straight”, where inmates would try educate young teens about what it is like to be in prison.

This facility is also known for riots where the inmates took prison guards and even a warden hostage, occurring in 1957, 1971 and 1972. This facility houses male inmates of all custody levels, varying from minimum-security to maximum-security. They are able to occupy 1,500 inmates at maximum capacity. They offer a variety of classes and rehabilitation programs to their inmates. A partial list includes:

Edna Mahan Correctional Facility Prison Consultants

Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women as stated by the name is an all women’s prison in Clinton, New Jersey. This facility is the only women’s prison in the state of New Jersey. Like the other prisons, it too has undergone a name change, formally being called Clinton Correctional Facility for Women. This facility opened its doors in 1913 and was able to hold around 700 female inmates. After several years and additional renovations to the facility, it is now able to hold up to 950 inmates ages 16 and older.

Since this is the only women’s facility in the state, they house all custody levels from minimum to maximum-security. They provide many programs for the female population, including treatment plans, educational courses, drug and alcohol programs and many more. They even offer a unique program called the Puppies Behind Bars. This program was designed for inmates to train therapy dogs for the blind. The prison is also well known for the 1979 escape of inmate Assata Shakur, who was in prison for murder on top of many other horrendous crimes. She is still on the loose and is suspected to be living in Cuba. In addition, she is on the FBI’s most wanted list classified as a domestic terrorist.

Trenton New Jersey Prison Consultants

New Jersey State Prison was the very first prison to open in Trenton, New Jersey in 1836. This prison is the oldest in the state of New Jersey and among one of the oldest in the entire country. This is the only facility in the state of New Jersey that houses male and female maximum-security inmates. Due to the fact that these inmates are so dangerous, the New Jersey State Prison puts a large emphasis on professional help. They provide a variety of help from psychiatric treatment, social work to mental health assessments. This facility can house 1,860 inmates at once.

Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix Prison Consultants

The Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix is a federal prison run by the federal bureau of prisons. It is a very large prison with a capacity of around 4200 inmates. This prison has had some interesting events happen in the past. In 2010 it was a part of a huge identity theft ring, where inmates were able to use stolen credit cards costing credit card companies upwards of 1 million dollars. This prison is also famous for holding George Jung who was the main character in the movie “Blow”.
